Active Families is a project which is designed to help families be active, eat well and have fun.
Many families have tried to be a bit more active, or change what they eat but just don’t manage to keep it going. Active Families would like to offer you some practical help to make changes to keep you and your family healthy.
Our project is a partnership between the British Heart Foundation (BHF), NHS Tayside and Leisure and Culture Dundee.
During your time in our project an Active Families Coordinator will support your family for three months to help you make positive lifestyle changes.
Some of the activities we can offer are- Walking, swimming, cycling, gym/fitness, ice skating, children’s sports classes and outdoor pursuits.
We can also help you make healthy food choices and provide advice on – healthy shopping on a budget, fussy eaters, snacking, and problems around mealtimes.
If you’re interested in getting your family more active or need some advice about healthy eating then please get in touch. All we ask is that your family is committed to making lifestyle changes by being more active, eating well, or a bit of both. A family should include at least one adult and one child.
